Leadership

Leadership in Times of Uncertainty

From Director to Gardener

The world is VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous). In the past, we could make 5-year plans. Today, it's often unclear what will be relevant in 5 months.

From Captain to Gardener

The old image of a leader: The captain standing on top, barking orders. That no longer works, because the captain cannot possibly have all the information to react quickly enough.
The new image: The gardener. He prepares the soil, waters, removes weeds, and ensures that the plants (the employees) can grow.

Trust as Currency

In remote teams and hybrid work environments, control is an illusion. Trust is the only currency that matters. Anyone who doesn't trust their employees to work even from home doesn't have a location problem, but an attitude problem.
